16/08/10                 Club AGM

The date for the AGM will be Tuesday 7th September, 8pm The New Inn, St Owens Cross. Agenda to follow

27/05/10                 Club Resignations

Chris, Chris Kieran and Tracey have decided to leave Garway FC. It is with regret that we have decided to leave but over the last 12 months it is quite apparent that the support of the some of the parents, the community and the players has been lacking and as such we feel that our spare time would be better spent elsewhere.Tracey will remain as Chair until the AGM planned for early July to resolve the outstanding posts.
We wish Garway FC and all of the players and coaches all the best for the future.

17/06/09                Club's 10th Anniversary

Garway celebrated its 10th Anniversary in style on Saturday 13th June. The day kicked off at 3:30pm on a superbly presented pitch prepared by Dave Trew, with U11 v U12 Challenge cup. A superb game was enjoyed by a well attended crowd. The game was refereed by Chris Phillips Jnr with his two linesmen Robert Jones and Jamie Wright. A thrilling game that saw 15 goals in total. With the U12 winning by a score line of 11 v 4. A brave and well spirited U11 gave the U12 a good game and played some excellent football but the inexperience of playing on a full size pitch and the year difference showed in the final score. Well done to both teams for an entertaining game.

The next game was a testimonial to the formation of the club and was attended by the "Old Boys from 1999/2000 season v Coaches Past and Present". The game was officiated by Chris Phillips Snr with Hywel Pullen and Phil Guilbert-Smith as his linemen.

The game was full of passion and bags of effort from both teams. The high tempo game saw a superb level of football with the Old boys managed by Andy Bevan taking the lead and using their youth and fitness to run the ball into the net 5 occasions. But the Coaches were no push overs, they battled hard using experience and clever play to come back and score 2 cracking goals. The goal of the game being that scored in extra time by Dave Trew, a top corner effort from 20 yards out in free play that any premier player would be proud of. The game ended 5-2 to the Old Boys with everyone tired but happy.
Teas and Coffee along with soft drinks and cakes were served by Carolyn Trew and Claire Francis, a big thank you to the ladies for putting on much needed refreshments. The weather was kind and the sun shone down on a tired but happy club.
After the games, celebrations continued at the Garway Moon late into the evening where awards were presented to the teams and the players of the club. A fantastic BBQ was provided by Tracey Phillips and Helen Wallis. Thank you ladies for your hard work. The band for the evening was 'Angel House' who played two great sets of rock and Indie covers enjoyed by everyone. Thanks lads for a great show!
A big thank you to everyone who helped, participated and supported the event. One which I hope all will remember for many years to come.
